Music Millennium - Portland, OR: In-store performance w/ LUSTER
boy, was the place down the street *packed* for the sleater kinney in-store right about the time we took the stage
at music millenium. a fun show anyway. one of the clerks said he was ready to hate us when we first walked, but
but decided we "rocked" once we played. he invited us back!
TUES, AUG 20
Meow Meow - Portland, OR: w/ LUSTER and Tami Hart
all ages! no bar! i'm pretty sure we spotted kathleen hanna at the middle-eastern restaurant we had dinner at before
the show. the headliner never showed up.
WED, AUG 21
Chop Suey - Seattle, WA: w/ LUSTER
very glamorous club with a nice rider. we played with the cutest girl band ever, the catch. the show started *way late*
though and kept two underage girl fans up past reasonable bedtime on a school night waiting for us to play. thanks for waiting, chicas.
THURS, AUG 22
Brotherhood Tavern - Olympia, WA: w/ LUSTER
i don't think a stage can get any smaller but this was the best show of the tour. highlights: a mosh pit of two. kate from
luster got doused with beer during their set when a very drunk punk rock boy carreened right onto stage in a moment
of excitement. we were presented with a case of olympia beer by the bartender on the way out. sniff!
FRI, AUG 23
Diablo's Downtown - Eugene, OR: w/ LUSTER
quite possibly the *worst ever in the history of bad stage sound*. all three bands agreed. still, it was super fun and there
was lots of great hair and makeup at this show because morrissey was playing across town and everyone showed up at
at diablo's for the after-party. the lovemakers (from sf) opened and delivered an incredible 80s-inspired set complete
with a (free!) make-out session on stage mid-song. some drunk person said we sounded like nirvana that night.
drunk people always say we sound like nirvana.
